Nikon D80 Digital SLR Camera

Nikon D80 Digital SLR Camera
5 stars
( 5 Stars )

The Nikon D80 camera is a great camera for anyone who wants a high performance Nikon digital SLR camera for an affordable, mid-range price. The Nikon D80 SLR comes packed with features that only a few years ago were exclusively available on much more expensive models.

At one end of the spectrum you can purchase the Nikon D80 body only, or you can get the Nikon D80 camera in a full blown package with a pretty inclusive accessory kit. These packages usually include at least one or two different Nikon lenses (18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G and 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6g Nikkor Zooms), a deluxe lens care and cleaning kit, 4 Gigabyte SD memory card, a lithium ion rechargeable battery, a gadget bag, a Nikon manual and Nikon software. Heck - some packages provide full size tripods with cases, and even include an aluminum monopod!

So whether you decide to purchase the Nikon D80 body only (and slowly build up from there), or go for one of the all inclusive packages - you just can't go wrong.

Consumer Feedback

"The Nikon D80 is an in between camera … between the Nikon D40 and D300. It really doesn’t matter what camera you use to shoot, it just has to have interchangeable lenses and be capable of shooting high resolution images. The Nikons are considered "Best in Class" by many, if not most photography buffs."

"I have the D80, and use a 50mm f/1.4 lens to acheive narrow DOF, as well as being able to shoot in low light. I also have the kit lens, the 18-135mm, and it is actually not a bad lens at all, if you don’t shoot much architecture, that is! It does suffer from some distortion on the wide end, and in some situations shows “purple fringing” Not bad enough to stop using it, on the D80 it is my walk around lens."

"To create different folders in the Nikon D80 camera refer to page 105 in your D80 owner’s manual. You can edit or create folders, but you must specify which folder the image files are to be saved before you take them."

"Go for a Nikon D80 with the Nikkor 18-200mm lens and forget everything else."

"Get a book or two on beginning photography. Learn about f stops and how they control light and DOF in your image. Also, images made with a dSLR usually benefit from some post processing in Photoshop or similar software."To create different folders with nikon D80 camera
